Introduction
"The Yellow Wallpaper" is about a couple who rent a beach house for three months in the hopes that the rest will heal the woman from a nervous depression disorder that she has. The husband, John, is a doctor who prescribes his wife to rest in a locked room in the house. She is not allowed to participate in any mental or social activities. So the narrator is forced to live in a room that she does not like and she is not suppose to write, as her husband believes it will defer her healing process. However, being locked in the room without the ability to express herself leads to the demise of her sanity.
